Review of ‘Godha’

Godha is a indian malayalam language film directed by Basil joseph, starred by Tovino Thomas, wamiqa Gabbi, Renji panicker & Aju vargheese.

Anjaneya Das (Tovino) hails from a family of wrestlers but loves cricket more. His dad (renji panicker) packs him off to punjab university for his M-tech, where he meets Aditi singh (wamiqa), a passionate wrestler. A series of events land them both back in god’s own county & a now episode of kusthi begins.

Anjaneya Das is an ex- wrestler who loves playing cricket with his friends. His dad, who is respectively called captain by all in their kusthi. While das & his friends want to play cricket on the village playground manayathu vayal. Aditi is played by wamiqa gabbi through a series of circumstances, the two end up back in Das’s village wherr each goes through a coming of age journey. The heroine, punjabi girl wamiqa who steels she show here with an impressive show. She is pretty & absolutely convincing as a wrestler.

Captain as renji panicker’s character is called is struggling not just with growing indifference within the community, but within his home too. His own son Das was a promising wrestler but gave it up.

A clash ensures as both the generation are not ready to let go of their favorite ground. Cricket vs kusthi is the main theme in the first half & it swings in action with humor.

Aditi is not a girl who settles for anything less than her dreams. And the biggest of her dreams is become a wrestler.

While the first half of the movie engages the audience through numerous comic sequence by Das, the second half of the movie will make you fall in love with Adithi, who carries the movie on her shoulders.

Aju vargheese Balettan would remain memorable for his perfect comic timing & screen presence. Hareesh kanaaran, sreejith ravi & kottayam pradheep too deserve special mention.

Godha is a simple sports story that will not disappointed you.
